Study Abroad from Hisar: Month-by-Month Timeline for the April and September Intakes

By Dreams Destination Counselling Desk ·

Quick answer

From Hisar, the study abroad process takes three to five months from the first sitting to the flight. Count backwards from the intake: for September 2027, sit with a study abroad consultant in Hisar by April or May 2027; for April 2027, by November 2026. Month 1: profile check, shortlist, decision, passport application if needed. Month 2: university application and admission or invitation letter, apostille and translation of marksheets. Month 3: funds and sponsor documents, insurance, visa file and appointment. Months 3–4: visa decision (about 20 days for Singapore, 35 for Mauritius, 45 for Russia and Belarus, 45–60 for Moldova, longer for Latvia, Lithuania and Slovenia). Last 3–4 weeks: ticket, pre-departure briefing, airport pickup arranged. Students who start late lose the intake, not just time.

Most students who miss an intake from Hisar do not miss it at the embassy. They miss it in month one — a passport applied for too late, a marksheet nobody checked against the passport spelling, a bank statement that was going to be "arranged". By the time the file reaches a study abroad consultant in Hisar, the intake is already gone and the only honest advice is to wait six months.

This post counts backwards from the two intakes we file for — April 2027 and September 2027 — so you know, this week, whether you are on time.

The two intakes and when to start

Intake Countries Start the process by Hard deadline for a complete file
April 2027 Mauritius, Russia and Belarus language-year routes, Singapore (rolling) November 2026 Mid-January 2027
September 2027 Moldova, Russia, Belarus, Latvia, Lithuania, Slovenia, Singapore, Mauritius April–May 2027 (March if no passport, or for Latvia/Lithuania/Slovenia) Early June 2027 for the EU three; late June for the rest

"Start" means the first sitting with originals on the table, not the first phone call.

The timeline, month by month

The months below are for a September start. For April, shift everything five months earlier.

Month 1 (April): decide, and apply for the passport

  • Week 1 — first sitting. Marks, gap, age, budget, family plan written down. You leave with two or three course + country options, each with total cost and a date. If you are choosing between routes, the five questions post is the preparation.
  • Week 1 — passport. If you do not have one, book the Hisar Passport Seva Kendra appointment the same week. Normal processing is two to four weeks including police verification. Nothing in month two can be filed without the passport number.
  • Week 2 — decision. The package, inclusions and fee date go into the file. Direct costs are listed line by line.
  • Week 2 — document check. Every marksheet from 10th onward, Aadhaar, photographs, and — this is the one that bites — the spelling of your name and your parents' names on every marksheet versus the passport. A mismatch means a gazette correction or an affidavit before the apostille, and that is three to six weeks.

Month 2 (May): admission, then apostille

  • Weeks 1–3 — university application. The desk files it; the offer or invitation letter comes in two to four weeks. For Latvia, Lithuania and Slovenia, the university's own deadline sits in late May or June — this is why those three start in March.
  • Weeks 2–4 — apostille and translation. Once the admission is in, marksheets and certificates go for the Ministry of External Affairs apostille, and for Russia, Belarus and Moldova, a translation. Two to three weeks. Included in the package.
  • Parallel — funds. Start the bank statement now, not in month three. A six-month history with the money already in it reads honestly; a lump sum that landed last Tuesday does not.

Month 3 (June): the visa file

  • Week 1 — insurance and sponsor papers. Insurance in India (in the package), sponsor's ID and income proof, relationship proof if the sponsor is not a parent.
  • Week 1–2 — visa file. Forms, appointment at the embassy or visa centre, biometrics where required, interview preparation for routes that have one (Moldova has none). The full per-country list is in the study visa documents checklist.
  • Week 2 onward — waiting. Typical decision times from our files:
Country Visa decision
Singapore ~20 days
Mauritius ~35 days
Russia, Belarus ~45 days
Moldova 45–60 days
Latvia, Lithuania, Slovenia Longer; tied to the university's September date

Month 4 (July): decision and departure

  • Visa in hand. The service fee is due now — not before.
  • Ticket. Booked after the visa, never before.
  • Pre-departure sitting. What to pack, how much money to carry and in what form, SIM, the name and number of who meets you, the first-week steps at the university (registration, residence permit, medical where required).
  • Airport pickup confirmed in writing.

Month 5 (August–September): arrive and register

Airport pickup, accommodation, university registration. For the language-year routes, classes start on the university's date; the main program follows the language year.

The four delays that cost an intake

  1. Late passport. Costs the whole of month one. Apply in week one.
  2. Name mismatch on marksheets. Caught at the document check in week two if someone looks; caught at apostille rejection in month two if nobody does.
  3. Funds that appear late. A statement built in the last fortnight before the visa file is the most common reason a good student gets a refusal on these routes.
  4. Waiting for IELTS. None of our eight routes needs it. Students sit for it anyway, lose three months, and arrive at the desk in July for a September intake. See study in Europe without IELTS.

For students from Hisar district

Everything above happens from one visit to the Hisar office with originals; after that, the file runs on WhatsApp. A student from Hansi, Barwala, Adampur, Uklana, Narnaund or Agroha does not need to come in for each stage. The only fixed in-person steps are the passport appointment and the embassy or visa-centre appointment, and we tell you those dates as soon as they exist.

Frequently asked questions

When should I start the study abroad process for the September 2027 intake?

By April or May 2027 at the latest if your passport is ready, and by March if it is not. Admission takes two to four weeks, apostille two to three, and the visa 45–60 days for most of our routes. Latvia, Lithuania and Slovenia have fixed university deadlines in late spring, so start those by March.

When should I start for the April 2027 intake?

By November 2026. Mauritius (April intake, about 35 days visa time) and the Russia and Belarus language-year routes can be done in three months from a complete file, but only if the passport and marksheets are in hand at the first sitting.

How long does a passport take in Hisar?

Normal applications through the Hisar Passport Seva Kendra usually take two to four weeks after the appointment, including police verification; Tatkal is faster but costs more. Apply in month one, because nothing else — admission, apostille, visa — can be filed without the passport number.

What is apostille and how long does it take?

An apostille is the Ministry of External Affairs stamp that makes your Indian marksheets and certificates valid abroad; some countries also need a translation into their language. Through the consultant it takes about two to three weeks and is included in our first-year package. It happens after the admission letter and before the visa file.

What delays students from Hisar most often?

Four things: applying for the passport late, a marksheet with a spelling mismatch against the passport, bank funds that appear in the account only days before the visa file, and waiting for IELTS that was never needed on these routes. Each of these costs three to six weeks, which is the difference between this intake and the next.

September 2027 ke liye kab shuru karein?

April–May 2027 tak, passport tayyar ho to. Passport nahi hai to March se.
